.Jesus could have just told them. But he didn’t. He could have simply said, “I’m Jesus! Everything is okay.” But he didn’t. Instead he told them the whole story. After walking with a pair of curious travelers on the road from Jerusalem to Emmaus on Resurrection Sunday, Jesus began with Moses and all the Prophets, interpreting for them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself. The two travelers didn’t know he was Jesus. They were kept from recognizing him. They needed help seeing.
