On the seventh day God rested. But he also rested on the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth day. I like to think of it as the cadence of creation. We find it stuck on repeat at the start of the book of Genesis … God said. And it was so. And it was good. Everyday God speaks something into existence. For instance on the first day he said, “let there be light” and on the sixth day he said “let us make man”. And whatever God said … happened. Then at the end of each day, he paused.
